Career Research-

Is This My Dream Career??

Without a great psychologist, people's lives would be depressed, and a great advice would help people solve their problems. The career that fit me the best is a psychology because I am a person who is open-minded and gives advice to others. I am a person who would like to be organized. Being a psychologist is a match for me: my personality, interest, skills, and aptitudes are well- suited for the requirements, qualifications, and work environment.

My personality was investigated and I learned about something new about myself that I did not know. I am a "rational"(Keirsey 4) person. I have values that explain a rational person. I like to stick to my plans until it works. That is reaching for my goals without stopping until I could make it. I would ask others what they want to do and also give my ideas too; "when planning mastermind is completely open-minded and will entertain any idea holding promise of utility" (Keirsy 4). Usually if I do not feel prepare, I usually worry. My interests are taking pictures, sociology, and law. My skills are taking care of children, listening, and talking and solving problems. My dad is a doctor and helps the internal and external of the body. Also my mom has a degree in law and literature. I believe I am mixed with their skills and interests. This is a relationship with law, literature (critical thinking), and medical activity.
The jobs that I found in the code were art director, psychiatrist, judge, sociologist, and many more these jobs are mostly in the communication, art, and critical thinking (Occupation Finder). Out of all the jobs that I have picked, I picked psychologist.
I have three goals that I want to reach for when I am working. Once I get my job, being successful is important so I know that I am doing well and I have achieved my goals on working. I could help others and do anything for a great purpose. I also think knowing what to do is important in a job because I do not want to get confused in what I am doing. I want to explain and tell people what I am doing in my own words. I want to do something that I am good at. Being secure is also my priority. In my life when I am working, there would be some ups and downs and if that keeps happening, that means that I am not stabled and secure at what I am doing. That is why I want to be secure so I could stay in a place and not move around.
The career I have researched was psychologist. They study about humans. Psychologist look through in "...physical, cognitive, emotional, or social aspects of human behavior" (Psychologist). Psychologist would collect the data they have researched on. Psychologist would help emotionally and mentally. They help clients to get used to their new environment and to prescribe medicine and perform surgery for the illness or injury (Psychologist). This is a great way to show my skills in helping others.Psychologist works in clinic, school, even in their office. They would make their own schedule and time too for working (Psychologist). They would experience pressure and this is because of the deadlines and tight schedules and overtimes (Psychologist). Sometimes psychologist gets interrupted frequently: "traveling may be required in order to attend conferences or conduct research" (Psychologist). This would also give pressure to psychologist.
Psychologist would need some qualification. Having a Bachelor’s degree qualifies you to attend university that provides doctoral training in "clinical, counseling, and school psychology as well as accrediting institutions that provides internships for doctoral students" (Psychologist) is in the American Psychologist Association. This is a place where you would get trained. There are different major field in psychology like "abnormal, clinical, comparative, development, educational, industrial, educational, motivational personality, and social"(Major Field). So there are many choices of fields in psychology that I could pick.Usually the places psychologist would get employed well are mental health and substance abuse centers (Psychologist). Middle level of employed psychologist is in public hospitals, clinic, correctional facilities, and other settings. Psychologist should be emotionally stable, mature, and able to deal effectively with people. "Master's degree in psychology requires at least 2 years of full-time graduate study" (Psychologist). They should be a good communicator and able to inspire other and leading others are usually important.Employments of psychologist are expected to "grow faster than average" (Psychologist) on the psychologist income, it really depends on what part you are working; private companies or clinic etc... Although there is a low salary, it is usually "$32,280" (Psychologist) or lower. If the person is working fine than it is usually "$64,460" (Psychologist) the highest 10 percent are more than $92,250 (Psychologist). I guess it just depends on what kind of field I would be doing and how well I would do as a psychologist. From the information I have revealed, it shows how I can relate to this job. The important thing is, if my goal is to be a psychologist, I have to reach for my first goal and it is to never stop trying your best in school that is how I could reach for my future goal. Never stop trying, don’t betray yourself in doing what you want.
